I Just Don't Like the Sound of NO!

Have you ever wished for a nice, sweet reply of "okay, Mom" when answering "No" to a request made by your little ones?  It seems as though I am not the only one who hears a bunch of ugghhs, whys, sighs and cries.  Our recent spring break from school really got me thinking about accepting no for an answer quite a bit.  My kids worked the cries, sighs and pouting overtime this week!
I pulled I Just Don't Like the Sound of No! My Story About Accepting No for an Answer and Disagreeing the Right Way! (Best Me I Can Be), by Julia Cook, off the shelf just in time!  RJ just doesn't like the sound of no.  It seems that every time he asks his mom for something, she says no!  Why can't she say maybe or I'll think about it?  It happens at school too.  RJ's teacher often answers No!  He is asked to join the Say YES to NO club.  The book guides RJ through a valuable lesson about accepting no for an answer by saying okay, staying calm and asking questions later.  Cook also goes an extra step and discusses ways to disagree with people appropriately.  I am hoping that my kiddos will be joining the say YES to NO club soon!

Who's it for?  This book is for kids of all ages struggling with the sound of NO.  There are tips for parents and educators in the back of the book.  There is also an activity guide for teachers available for purchase.  This book includes a CD with reproducible worksheets and a poster set.

Disclosure:  I received this book from the author for free.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
