If you liked Diary of a Wimpy Kid, try this....

With the ever growing popularity of Kinney's series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, it's hard to think about any other books that may appeal to your middle grade kids, but there are so many other books out there worth trying!  Take the Geronimo Stilton series, for example.  Geronimo is a mouse full of spunk and laughter.  He always manages to get himself into crazy, silly situations with his friends, Thea, Trap and Benjamin.  The stories are full of "mouse" vocabulary and provide kids with the challenge of figuring out how the Mousific Ocean correlates with our world.  All of Stinton's story lines promote problem solving skills and introduce children to many different cultural situations.  Like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Stinton uses humor, fast paced adventure, different fonts and colors on every page, captivating even the most reluctant of readers.  There are currently 47 books in the series.  Stinton's latest, Run for the Hills, Geronimo! (Geronimo Stilton, No. 47), was released in October.  Hurry and get caught up because this series is far from over.... The Mystery in Venice (Geronimo Stilton, No. 48) is coming in January!

  1. Great suggestion - would our 6 year old kids like this read aloud as Chapter books - or is it more for those middle school aged kids?
