The 12 Days of Christmas!! Day One: Book Picks for Babies

Welcome to the first day of Better with a book's 12 Days of Christmas book celebebrations! I'm so excited to be starting out with my favorite Christmas books for babies.  It's never too early to start a special holiday collection! Take a look at a couple of my favorites, as well as a new release for the 2011 holiday season.

I have been in love with Karen Katz's books since Kylie was a baby!  The short phrases, colorful pictures and intriguing little flaps have always been fun for all of us. Where Is Baby's Christmas Present?: A Lift-the-Flap Book is no exception!  Baby cannot find the Christmas present.  Where can it be?  The little one in your life will look forward to the little surprises on each page and will be so excited to find the present after all!

You Are My Miracle  is quite possibly the most beautiful Christmas books around!  I have purchased this book several times for childrens first Christmases and have added it to our very own special holiday collection.  Maryann Cusimano Love and Satomi Ichikawa teamed up in the National bestseller,  You Are My I Love You: board book to create poetic phrases and illustrations displaying the loving connections between parents and children.  You Are My Miracle creates a touching story about all of the wonderful family traditions involved with the Christmas holiday and so perfectly exhibits how amazing the magic of Christmas can be   seen through the eyes of both a child and a parent.  I love, love, love this book!

It's time to celebrate with our favorite, feathery friends, Duck and Goose!  Just in time for the holidays, Tad Hills has created another adventure. This time, Goose is ready for all things winter, except for decorating the tree.  While he's having fun sledding, skating and making snow angels, Duck keeps telling him that it's not time for all of this, it's time for Christmas!!  I love the repetitive text and silly little relationship between Duck and Goose. I look forward to adding this Christmas edition to our growing collection of our favorite birds!

  1. Yes you were my inspiration! How did you get your cool graphics. Also like your recommendations for babies. I can add to Cora's stocking. She loves Karen Katz too.

  2. It is now very difficult for me to look for new books for my son, since we have already read so many books and I can not find what new can be bought for him.
